SUSTAINABILITY
Already in our first year in 2019 we could realize one major milestone in our history. We created a sustainable Collection made of entirely regenerated ECONYL fibre. Ever since and whenever possible we look for sustainable fabrics for our Swimwear collection.
As a Start-up we are very proud to be able to offer sustainable Swimwear at highest quality standards to our customers and partner stores.
Regenerated ECONYL® Yarn
ECONYL® regenerated nylon is entirely made out of waste that’s been rescued from landfills and oceans around the world. It performs exactly the same as brand new nylon and it can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again. That means you can create new products and buy new products without ever having to use new resources.
As well as being a solution on waste, ECONYL® regenerated nylon is also better when it comes to climate change. It reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 80% compared with the material from oil.
To put the impact of ECONYL into numbers, for every 10,000 tons of ECONYL material made, it spares 57,100 tons of carbon dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere and 70,000 barrels of crude oil from being used.
For us as Palmar Swimwear this means that even as a small brand, we can have an impact into our environment with every Bikini sold. You can recognize our Swimwear being made with ECONYL yarn by the separate Tag as well as the imprint.
What’s incredible about the regeneration process is that once these ECONYL products have reached the end of their lifecycle, the fabric can enter back into the regeneration process and be transformed into like-new nylon once again. So basically your Palmar Bikini made of collected waste can have second and third life as any other kind of garment. Isn't that just amazing?
